The Truth About “Kepprage”: Why Your Seizure Medication Is Making You Angry

Research suggests that Levetiracetam can interfere with B6 metabolic pathways in some individuals, leading to a functional deficiency in the brain even if blood levels look relatively normal.

What the Research Says

Multiple clinical studies have evaluated the effect of B6 supplementation on AED-induced behavioral side effects. The results? A significant percentage of patients—both adults and children—report a noticeable reduction in irritability, anxiety, and aggression when taking supplemental B6 alongside their medication.

Typical Dosages: Clinical trials often evaluate dosages ranging from 50 mg to 100 mg daily for adults (and lower, weight-adjusted doses for children).

A Critical Safety Warning: More is not better. Taking excessive doses of Vitamin B6 over an extended period can cause peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage causing numbness or tingling in the hands and feet). Always consult your neurologist before adding B6 to your daily routine to ensure the right dose for your body.

Actionable Tips: Managing the Rage Right Now
